If you've read any of our reviews from the Phoenix area, you might be able to tell we don't dig southern AZ that much [the parks are *great* thou']. However, Flagstaff is beautiful and much cooler than down south, with pine trees and mountains everywhere you look. Bushmaster feels more like the northwest than the southwest.

Another fine SDG [Site Design Group - 480.894.6797] production, this place is a great ride. There are a number of other SDG parks in the southwest, including Boulder CO's Scott Carpenter, NM's kill parks in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, and of course the legendary Chandler in Phoenix AZ.

It's been about 6 months since we rode this park, but we seem to recall a couple of small criticisms: 1.) The concrete's a little "sticky" [lost it's coating?], 2.) Some of the "square" coping feels a little sketchy, and 3.) The fun box's transitions are abrupt... to be honest the park rocks, we're probably just being overly thorough here.

Here are a few comments from a local via email:

"We have one of the tightest parks for free flowing runs and a really good scene up here. Down to earth. Just wanted to give props to north AZ - we're a small town with a big skate scene."

Directions: Coming east of Flagstaff, take Interstate 40 west. Exit at Fourth Street Road and head north. Turn right [east] on E. Lockett Road. The park is a little less than a mile west of Fourth Street. The skatepark is on the southeast corner of N. Alta Vista Drive and E. Lockett Road, inside Bushmaster Park. If you hit Pine Drive, you’ve gone too far.
