Mesa, AZ is a damn big park. I used to say it was "one of the biggest/deepest," but a local expert named Luis Solis sent me a vicious little email that straightened me out on a number of issues - at this park and other AZ bangers...

I used to say that "Mesa was funded by the lottery and cost about $1 million bucks." Luis says, "bullshit!" He let me know that none of the parks in AZ were funded by the lottery and no f**kin' way was this one "a million dollars." Okay. All right. I also used to say that it was like "7-8 feet deep." SLAP from Luis again...

"The bowl is not 7-8 ft deep. It is 5 feet deep. The perimeter and the spine are the same height at 5 ft."

Okay, maybe Luis was a little nicer than all that, but I'm not sticking my neck out on AZ reviews anymore... if you need the real skinny, call Luis at home at 602.555.SLAP! Heh heh.

Like Chandler, Desert West and Eldorado, Mesa is a big gnarly ride. Have fun and send us action shots. Hell, why not give this review another kick in the ass.

Directions: Mesa is in central-eastern Phoenix, so we recommend you get onto the 60 freeway east to get started. Take the 60 past Center St and Mesa Dr, and exit Stapley Dr going north. At Broadway Rd, make a right [east] and proceed for a few blocks until you hit Reed park, then turn right. You're there!
