Burbank

* Outdoor: 'Crete
* Pay [tsk, whatever!]
* Trannie / Street
* Rating: Little kid lockdown...

Along with the waiver-wavin' pad nannies, the fee to ride [one of the only PUBLIC parks in the WORLD that charges to ride - sucks!!!], the weak-sauce hours, and the mandatory/enforced pad requirements, Burbank skatepark actually has some stuff to skate - if you can get past the rest of the bullshit.

"Did you know the city of Burbank has a skate park? We have a new one... concrete, opened Jan 11, '03. Open Tue-Thu 3:30-7:00 PM, Fri 3:30-6:00 PM, Sat and Sun 10:00-5:00 PM and closed on Mon."

- Nick Marcaccio: Feb '03

Burbank, and all the other uptight, prison parks, need to get a clue. The "jackasses that be" are way too interested in creating and enforcing "rules," instead of just tearing down the fence and letting skater's do what skater's do!!! Seen Redwood City? 10-times the park, half the rules, and no fences/babysitters. Catch a brick Burbank, your song is SOOO tired.

Directions: Take the 134 through Burbank and exit Cahuenga heading north. Pass Magnolia, and make a right [east] on Oxnard. Make another quick right [south] on Valley St. The skatepark will be on your right in Valley Park.

^ Score another one for the
fence manufacturers, the new
Burbank skatepark is
locked up tight... gotta keep
those skaters out!

^ Bitch session aside, the
bowl was fun. Too small, but
fun. Nice, fast, 3 in coping.
While the 4 ft height limit is
frustrating, the walls are
steep enough to keep your speed
up. Couple of nice hits. Oh,
yeah, spine too! Compare this
design to La Habra's
sleepy bowl... much better. But
compared to bowls like Newburyport MA,
B-Bank needs to step it up, uP, UP!

^ Super-bad crash-up potential,
but if you can get the little
kids outta your way, this park
is kinda fun. The rules here suck,
but that's not the parks fault...
