Circa: Skate Jam 2000

* Indoor: concrete / wood
* Pro Demo / Competition
* Street
* Rating: Rockstar's shakedown

On June 3, Circa hosted a skate/musical event entitled, Skate Jam 2000. This event took place in San Bernardino's Orange Show facility and featured a quick and dirty street course along w/ hours of hip-hop and electronic music.

The skating was excellent. Circa's crew and several other soldiers from the ranks of our skate army battled the heat, and each other, as they threw down the goods for a hungry crowd of rubbernecking skate freaks. Much of the action centered on an evil handrail that had been summoned to challenge the riders' styles. By the time it was over, there were a few broken boards and grip of grinning fans.

In addition to the action on the street course, several other slices of street culture invaded the venue as DeeJays, Emcees, and BBoys [that's "break dancers"], showed up to get down.

Special thanks goes out to Circa for kicking off such a sweet event. For more skate events see SK8parkLIST's coverage of Slam City Jam and last summer's Van's Triple Crown event in Huntington Beach.
