Live Oak Skatepark
|
* Outdoor: 'Crete
* Free
* Trannie
* Rating: Ashtray
Park number 3 of 4 in Santa Cruz - Live Oak skatepark.
This park is basically an ashtray. In fact, it's part of this builder's "ashtray" series, which includes Ventura's West and Pacific Highschool skateparks. Weird design, true dat.
Now, if you're in Santa Cruz and ashtrays aren't your thing, you have three more options. Derby is more of a "bird bath." Then, you've got jenky Ramptech, asphalt, yuck-yuck at the park near the beach. And finally, out of 4 parks, there's one really good one in nearby Ben Lomand [awesome - pics coming soon!].
Directions: Head through Santa Cruz, via Highway 1, south of the intersection with highway 17. Heading south, you'll pass Morrissey, and exit Soquel heading southwest - kinda toward the beach. Soon after you leave highway 1, you'll make a left [south] on 7th. A couple blocks later, you'll make another left [east] on Capitola. 2 blocks later, make a right [south] on Jose Ave... and you're there!
