Hobart Skatepark

* Outdoor: 'Crete
* Free
* Trannie / Street
* Rating: Hobart Hideout

Hobart Park is one of three lesser-known 'crete parks in Ventura. The remaining two are West Park over by Highway 33, and Pacific High School's park. Hobart is the biggest, and probably the best, of the three weird little skateparks.

Living in the shadow of great parks like Ventura's SkateStreet 2 Santa Barbara's Skater's Point, and Camarillo's park, this little scene is almost always "locals only." It's not that the locals are territorial [that we know of], you just never hear about these spots. If you're in the mood for a change of scene, check Hobart out.

Directions: Take the 101 freeway to Ventura, and exit Highway 126 toward Santa Paula / Filmore [about a 1/2 mile north of the Telephone Rd. exit]. From the 126, exit Kimball Rd. and turn left. Continue about a 1/2 mile to Telegraph Rd. and turn right. Hobart Park is about a mile down Telegraph on the right. If you pass Cambria Road, then you missed it!
