Pacific Skatepark
|
* Outdoor: 'Crete
* Free
* Trannie / Street
* Rating: Well "rounded"
"The Pacific skatepark is one of three free parks in Ventura - the rest of the family includes Ventura's West and Hobart skateparks."
"This skatepark is primarily made up of 3 ft banks that form a hip on one side and shape the side of the bowl on the other. The bowl - a perfect circle - is 3 ft deep, with coping on the inside, and transfer lines out of the bowl into the center of the park."
"Pacific skatepark has no rails, but there are various low ledges in a circle around the perimeter of the park. The downside to these ledges is that they block a lot of the space for getting speed or landing flyouts."
"Even thou' this park is small and doesn't have a lot of options, it's not a bad park. For a more upscale skatepark experience, check out Ventura's SkateStreet."
- Todd Griffiths: Dec '01
Directions: Take Highway 101 to Ventura. Exit at Seaward Ave. and head north. Make a right [west] onto Main St. Make a left onto Mills Rd, followed by a right onto Dean Dr. Then make a left onto Chapel Dr. The skatepark is on the right, adjacent to the Pacific High School football field.

^ You know those plastic balls
you put your hamster in, so he can
roll around the floor bumping into stuff?
That's what Pacific skatepark reminds me of...

of the bowl that connects to
the flat middle part...

^ Flyout: (fli-out) verb
To fly-out of a bowl or ramp,
may or may not utilize an ollie.

here's the bowl again, and
