We're from the 805 and we're real down for our little skate scene in this part of the world. I always want to say that "we've got every skatepark in the 805" on the SK8parkLIST, but the truth is there are a couple of parks that weren't listed for a long time... Ventura West is one of those. It's not the best park in the world, but we're trying to show you what your options are, so here it is.

For a little slice of the California coast, we've got so many great parks. To begin with, we've got these little concrete parks in Ventura - there's this one, Hobart, and another one by the high school. The new SkateStreet 2 is fun and it's in Ventura also. Oxnard is supposed to get a park soon. To the south we've got a great scene at Camarillo, a little park in Newbury Park, and killer sessions out in Simi Valley at SkateLab. Heading north you've got a sick miniramp in Ojai, and our local park in Santa Barbara. Finally, way up north in you've got Santa Maria, Lompoc, Grover Beach, Paso Robles, and Templeton. Whew... told you we had a lot of parks!

Directions: Take Highway 101 to Ventura and exit at California Street, then head north. Turn left [west] onto Main Street, followed by a right [north] onto Ventura Avenue. Then make a left onto Park Row, and follow it until it ends. The skatepark is on your right.

^ The West park
in Ventura really isn't
that good - I like
Hobart much better -
but it's free!

^ This kids Chaz
Hottinger has a
crazy 360 early

^ Here are some

^ Chaz getting high
on the vert wall

^ That's a twinkie
sticking out there...
I'm sure if this park
was built today they'd
have used some coping.
