"There's a skatepark in West Covina - it's pretty bad. We had Daniel Shimizu come over here already and show everybody up."

- SpHcSk8er: Feb '03

Definitely one of the better parks from Purkiss Rose [714.871.3638] in 2002. It's similar to Santa Ana and Azusa, in that it's basically all street. While it still KILLS ME that those guys would dis bowls again and again [no wonder all the trannie dudes hate you guys], this one has better flow and a couple of trannie-like features that were unique and fun to skate.

We should mention, there were an amazing bunch of talented fools hangin' out at this place... we shot solid video of all the fellas, including Herbie Grover [ups to Media skateboards!], Curtis Elliot, Frankie Martinez, Brian Sawyer, and Frankie "little" Soto... to name just a few. Much respect, gentlemen.

Directions: Take the 10 fwy to West Covina [east of LA], and exit Vincent Ave, heading south [Vincent is between the Azusa Ave and Sunset Ave exits]. Merge right [southwest] on S. Glendora, then make a right [northwest] on Merced. The skatepark is off Merced, between Sunset and Orange.

^ While still technically "street"
terrain, this section of the park
at West Covina flows nice,
has a "clam shell" feature and a
couple hits to keep your blood flowing.
This section is gnarly big, some
of the largest street stuff in CA.

many tricks to
