Windsor Skatepark

* Outdoor: 'Crete
* Free
* Trannie / Street
* Rating: She'll make your neck-sore!

Another Wormhoudt [831.426.8424] park, Windsor skatepark is a fun little diversion.

The bowl is pretty sweet, but not as gnarly as Sunnyvale, or as flowable as nearby Novato. The coping grinds forever, there's some true vert in the deep end, and the two round hits are fully blastable.

The street area is kinda booty. It barely flows... the walls are too small/low to give you enough speed to fly off the boxes in the middle. I always have to push in the flat sections [and pushing sucks!] - compare it to the Sunnyvale or Novato street sections which haul ass and were designed by the same company.

This part of the world is a goldmine of crazy parks. In addition to Novato [mentioned above], other nearby options include the funky oldschool parks at Santa Rosa and Petaluma... freaky-deaky parks, no doubt. Closer to Windsor you'll find a great Wormhoudt park at Healdsburg.

Directions: Windsor is about 1 hour north of San Francisco, off the 101. Take the 101 to Windsor, and exit on the "Central Windsor" exit - that road is actually called Lakewood as you roll off. Head east away from the freeway, and make a left [north] on Brooks. Continue on Brooks, across Glen Miller, past one park, across Foothill, past the Middle School, and then you'll see the skatepark on the right [east] next to the soccer fields.

^ The bowl at Windsor is
"snake run" style, ranging from
about 3 to 7 ft, in the deep end.

^ There are least 3 of these
little fun box set ups in the park

^ SHITEO: Santa
Rosa ripper Uriah Green
"picks" a winner!

^ That gap feature is
becoming a Wormhoudt
standard... you can
skate that same feature
in St George UT and
again at Greenfield in Cali

^ Here's a look back
at that bowl again
