British Columbia has an admirable commitment to big concrete parks - Griffin is no exception. With wide, rolling, smooth walls, Griffin is kinda like the loveseat of skateparks. No vert, no grindable edges, no coping... Imagine taking a 80,000 lb mutant walrus and dropping it out of plane onto a concrete slab, the resulting crater, that's about the size and shape of this place.

Personally, I like the walls at Seylyn better - more vert at the top makes things a little spicier. However, as many of you may know, Griffin is a local spot for Canadian ripper Alex Chalmers [probably his brothers, too]. If you've ever seen him skate this place, you can begin to imagine how much fun you could have.

There are tons of other parks in the area, unfortunately, our coverage is somewhat limited. There are more snakeruns nearby at Whistler, Seylynn and Whiterock. You could take a look at the bowlables at Hastings and Parkgate. We also have some pics of the "fine" China Creek park... Stay tuned for more Canadian evidence for your general education. Until then, feel free to submit your own pics... we'll make you famous!

Directions: Take Highway 1 to North Vancouver, exit at Westview Dr. and head north. Make a left at Queens Road. The park is between the 800 and 900 block. If you don't like our directions, feel free to yell at us and we'll straighten 'em out.

^ The bowl is
kinda deep...
6-7 ft?

^ Ninja flyout
from the bowl

^ The walls are
real "soft" and
the trannie flattens
out at the top. Kinda
like Rosa in
Cali, or Swift in WA...
