West Beach Miniramp

* Indoor: Woodie

* Rating: Surfs up!
We're including this spot in one our "not-so-skatepark" editions of our newsletter. Yep. West Beach isn't exactly a skatepark, but it's got flow AND shelter from the elements, that's twice as nice as a parking lot, anyday!
The day we showed up [we were in town for Slam], the Quicksilver team was supposed to do a demo. I was stoked! Rhode Island's Donny Barley can KILL transition, and I heard he might show up.. turned out that all they did was sign a couple of autographs and bail. Stefan Janoski DID drop in on my board once. He read "SKATEparkLIST" - as it was scribbled on my griptape - and laughed a little. What do your think that meant?
Come by and check this shop out some time... it's got a gang of clothes and shoes and bikinis and all that, but the skate shop [in the back] is where it's at. The miniramp is back there, too. You may have to sign a waiver or something, but it's a cool ride when you're ready.
Directions From downtown Vancouver, take Burrard St. south across the Burrard Bridge. Make a left onto 4th Ave. and the shop is on the right. The address is 1766 4th Ave., for more info call the park direct at 604.731.6449.
