Saskatoon Skatepark

"Here's Saskatoon's upcoming "Lions Skatepark" in Saskatchewan, Canada."

"The park is 20,000 sq ft and will be built in summer 2003, ready for Labour Day. Props to Kyle Dion and the design team from Newline Skateparks [604-882-0605] and van der Zalm & Associates Inc. of Vancouver. And a HUGE thanks to the Saskatoon Lions Clubs, who donated $85,000 toward this $400,000 monster."

"Check the detail in this design - very cool innovations. And that bowl is 5 to 7 ft deep - Ouch! This park is open to everyone: skates, cranks and fruitboots - note the strategic placement of obstacles to avoid collisions."

- Scott Laird: Apr '03

Directions: "The park will be located in Victoria Park, beside Riversdale Pool and Riverside Tennis Club. From Regina, Saskatchewan [along the #11 highway], take the first exist as you approach the city [Circle Drive to City Centre]. Circle Drive turns into Idylwyld Drive. Turn left on 20th Street West, left again on Avenue "C". Avenue C turns into Spadina Crescent. Look toward the river to your left and you'll see Victoria Park and the skatepark. Lots of free parking."
