The following review of the Apocalypse skatepark at the City on the Hill Church in Boulder, is based on some pics we shot in the summer of 2000, as well some contributions from the church itself.

"Apocalypse is a free skatepark built by City on the Hill Church for Boulder County and all of Colorado. God loves this community and so do we, so we decided to put our money where our mouth is to show it! If you're ever in the area, please come join us!!"

"One very important thing you left out about the lords park... it's free, but if you're not fully padded, including wrist guards, god won't let you skate. That's probably the reason it's almost always completely empty."

There you have it! Of course, the city of Boulder has another skatepark for the concrete junkies out there, but if you're in the neighborhood, Pastor Hunter's offer sounds like a pretty good deal to us.

Directions: This park was tough to find. Try these directions: Head north from Denver on I-25 toward Boulder. Exit route 7 [aka Baseline Rd, aka W 168th] and head west toward Boulder for several miles. You'll pass a small airport and County Line Rd, on your way to 75th. At 75th, make a right [north], and continue to Arapahoe where you'll make a left [west]. The skatepark is located at 7483 Arapahoe at the City on the Hill Church. For more info, call the park direct at: 303.440.3873.

^ I can't get over the killer
name they picked...Apocalypse!
That would be a sweet name for any
skatepark, but for a Jesus-park it's
perfect! ...photo from 2000.

^ This shot is from 2002. It looks like
they cleaned up the flow lines a little
since 2000. The ramps are closer together...

^ That vert ramp is definitely new

^ Some weird rails in this park - photo from 2000.

^ Colorado likes this kind of miniramp -
and so do we. Check out the similar ramps
at Fort Collins and Palisades. Further
east, Rye Airfield just built one of their
own - photo from 2000.
