Breckenridge Skatepark
* Outdoor: 'Crete / metal
* Free
* Trannie / Street
* Rating: Brecken' Necks!
At over 8000 ft above sea level, the Breckenridge skatepark is snuggled into the Rockies like a tick on a dog's butt. An 8000 ft tall dog, that is...
The main attraction is the sick ass bowl - designed and put together by Team Pain's concrete geniuses [407.366.9221]. Burley deep in one end, square hits, round hips, endless lines, clever spine... this place has more clean pockets than a laundromat.
There is also a dinky street course, with a mix of concrete trannie and metal ramps. It does have a knee-high ledge and a matching rail, so tech-heads can get their chop-chop together.
Did we mention the park has lights - yes.
Directions: From highway 70, head toward Breckenridge [the town of Frisco - on the way - also has a park] on route 9. As you get closer to town, take Valleybrook west [to your right]. From Valleybrook, you could probably see the Rec center. The skatepark is off of Valleybrook, and part of that Rec center facility.

^ At about 9 ft in the deep section, this
end of the bowl at Breckenridge
is an experienced neck wrecker...
^ Now THIS is a good spine!
^ Look at that bowl... after an
exhausting session, nothing like
a Fat Tire to wash back the action!
Glub, glub, glub... ummm, Fat Tire.
^ We didn't get to skate much
on our first trip to the Breck
park - this is what March can look
like...
^ Here's the snowed-in street course
^ That's a flatbar up front, the
ledges after that, then the fun box
in the background.
^ See, metal quarterpipes and
some concrete "berms" on the sides
