Denver Skatepark

* Outdoor: 'Crete
* Free: ???
* Vert / Trannie / Street
* Rating: "Totally kicks ass"

Here we go again, another Frankenstein monster of a review. Various blood-clots of information, stitched together with bailing wire, a rude form of skatepark collaboration. This monster thinks for itself and grows nastier with each new infusion. Behold Denver - SKATEparkLIST style:

"A new 50,000 sq ft park just opened. It's supposedly the nation's largest public free park and has everything from a fully ledge-able street course and 12 ft deep bowls and snake runs to bump bumps and a hella lot more. You NEED some pics of that park!"

- Amazing Boy: Aug '01

"The Denver park is sweet. The transitions are a little weird to get used to but when you do it's fun. It has a 3 ft bowl, a spine, a 6 ft bowl, a peanut-shaped bowl [9 ft section with vert], a vert bowl [8 to 12 ft], a clover bowl [3 to 5 to 6 ft], and a killer street course."

- Justin Williams: Dec '01

"The largest public skatepark in Colorado, if not the United States. It has two complete sections, separated by a shaded picnic area. One side is street, the other is all bowls, including: one 12 footer with a foot and a half of vert and a ladder to use to climb out. If you are in Colorado, do not miss this one - it's huge."

Send in those submissions and help bring this monster to its feet...

Directions: The downtown Denver park is located just east of the 25 freeway, a few miles south of the 70. Coming from the south on the 25, take the Colfax exit and head east. Continue on to Lincoln St and take that north for a few blocks. Look for 20th St and head northwest on 20th back toward the 25. Just before you hit the freeway, you should see the park on your left. The exact address is 2205 19th St. 19th is one way, so we think 20th would be the best way to get there.

the rollers. Right at the end of the
ledge, by the cement, is a 5 stair! Tight
stuff!" [Photo/Comments: Cj Sells]
