Salida Skatepark
|
* Outdoor: 'Crete
* Free
* Vert / Trannie / Street
* Rating: Bowlrider beatdown
Central CO was not what we expected. We were thinking pine trees and snow capped mountains, but what we ran into was a sweaty, desert landscape. As we gobbled up the miles on our Summer Tour, trying to find some relief from the September sun, we rolled into Salida's skatepark. Salida's park was just as hot as the rest of the southwest, but a lot more fun than the desert that surrounds it.
You may already know that this park is yet another Team Pain production, built by Tim Payne's crew including Omar, Matt, and James [James designed the bowls as well]. While the street course is limited, the bowls are wicked and should help motivate you to cruise by and score a little flow-flow and airtime action for yourself.
Directions: Traveling on Highway 50, Salida is located about 100 miles west of Pueblo, CO and Interstate 25. Take Highway 50 west to Highway 291 [Oak St] and go north. About a mile up Highway 291 make a right on G Street. The park is on the corner of Highway 291 and G St.
