Silverthorne Skatepark

* Outdoor: 'Crete
* Free[dom]
* Trannie
* Rating: Alpine Payne Park

Oh - the Colorado Rockies tour is too good to pass up. Big country trannie, cool summer temperatures, great attitudes, and Fat Tire's for everyone. Silverthorne - built with pride by Team Pain [407.366.9221] - is just one of many Rockie Mountain masterpieces.

The CO legendary tours have been many, and for the faithful, the fruit is ripe for picking. Pack the tour truck and prepare to tackle the Breckenridge bowl, acres of Aspen's aspects, prehistoric lumpy keyhole at Grand Junction, the magic of Montrose, the gnar-gnar of Custy Butt, and - more. Yea-yeah. So fun.

Directions: Take I-70 to Silverthorne and exit Blue River Pkwy heading north. Make a right on 6th [east], then another right on Center [south], and proceed to Rainbow Dr. You should see the Rec center at that point - park there. The skatepark is in the grassy park, kinda down in the valley a little.

^ Drag your eyes over the
saucy curves of the Silverthorne

^ This is Colorado's
solution to the
fences, rules and
regulations... not
too bad. Thanks, CO!

^ Classic... some things
never change.

^ SHITEO: This
old dude is a
SKATEparkLIST slave.
Good thing his
pictures are better
than his skating!
[Video: Ali Kermani]

^ Yes, it has some
steeps, complete w/
pool coping. And yes,
the BMX crowd has chunked
it up, again. "Bikes
don't cause any damage
to skateparks..." Sure,
they don't, whatever.

^ Not too big, or fancy,
just sweet rockin' lines
'til you puke!

^ Trademark Team Pain
clam shell feature. Here's
another Payne clam shell
in this shot from Nashua NH.
