WARP Skatepark

* Indoor: Wood / 'Crete
* Pay: $7 [3 hour sesh]
* Vert / Trannie / Street
* Rating: "This park kicks ass!"

IL skaters are REALLY into their parks. Top of their list - based on all the feedback we've gotten - is WARP skatepark in Woodstock IL.

"What up! I've got a new IL park for you guys - it's WARP. It's got a vert ramp, two mini ramps, and a shitload of banks, and quarter pipes boxes with handrails. It's even got a stage for local bands. This park kicks ass!!!"

"WARP is known for its vert ramp. Besides vert, this park has a really fun street course. The middle of the street course was recently remodeled. They also have a cool pro shop."

- Allison Polizzi: Jun '02

The neighborhood vibe at this park rocks. The staff were cool as hell, and the locals don't stop. Big ups to everyone we met, and especially Brandon "Bucky" Kempkens, Chaz Ortiz, Corey Stevens, Anthony Knight and Evan Seidemen. Thanks guys, you've got a good thing going on.

Directions: Woodstock is sort of between Chicago and Rockford. To get there from Chicago [for instance], take the I-90/94 north, then when they split, stay on the 90 west [also called the "Northwest Tollway"]. About 30 mi. later, take highway 47 north toward Woodstock. The park is actually on route 47, 1 block south of route 14. For more info, call the park direct at: 815.334.9277.
