Major Taylor skatepark in Indianapolis is straight bangin'. The 1st pic below and the rating were submitted by Indi loc Joe Lukawski - thanks Joe. It looks like a great park.
The park had a few familiar lines, and that seemed weird since we've never been to Indiana. After a little research, we discovered this park is a Wormhoudt [831.426.8424] skatepark [you're supposed to be stoked at this point] and of course we'd recognize their handiwork.
As skaters, it's not always our first priority to know park designers, but if you're planning on road-tripping [which you should be] and you're trying to pick your parks, Wormhoudt is damn close to a guarantee you'll love the park. Most of their parks are in Cali, including genius efforts like Rosa, Healdsburg, Camarillo, Greer, and soooo many others.
We've seen a few other pics of this place [got pics?] and there are a *lot* of lines in this park. 15,000 sq. feet of well planned flow and techables, you guys are lovin' it. For the record, the park is bike-friendly and pads are required.
Directions: Located in Lake Sullivan Park near Marion College, the park is northwest of downtown Indianapolis. From Downtown, take Interstate 65 north. Exit 38th street [exit 119] and head west. At Kessler Blvd make a left [south] over the 65. Make another quick left onto 38 again [now you're on the south side of the freeway]. Make a right on Coldsprings to head south. The park entrance is on the left side.
