Keene Skatepark

* Outdoor: 'Metal / Concrete / Asphalt
* Free
* Trannie / Street
* Rating:

Located in Southwest NH, Keene has a little skatepark.

We can't testify for the current state of this park... but back in 2001 [when the pictures below were taken], it was already pretty beat up. The asphalt sucks, as usual... hard to keep your speed. The metal ramps have gaps where they meet the asphalt, for that chunk-chunk sensation as you roll into the trannie. There's also a tiny New England McPark section [no pictures, but it's there] w/ those pre-fab concrete features - that was barely rideable. The impact of heavy bike usage was hard to ignore... the miniramp was the best feature, from our perspective.

Other local parks include Brattleboro in VT, then more McPark action at Milford, an almost-good concrete park in Manchester, and another metal park in Londonderry. The concrete park Nashua is a much better option, and the new indoor park in Rye is really a great park. In Northeastern Mass, you've got Newburyport [yes!], and that's about as good as it gets!

Directions: Highway 101 runs thru southern NH, and thru Keene. From the 101 - inside the city limits - head north on Main. After you cross Water and Marlboro, make a left [west] on Emerald, followed by a right [north] on Wilson. Wilson deadends into the park!

stuff to the left of this shot...

^ No hassles!

^ SHITEO: And now
for something you don't
see everyday - frontflip
dismount out of the mini

^ Ricki had his
