I was "not feeling well" after a night out in Las Vegas. My plane would leave for LA in a little over an hour, but I thought I'd try and score some coverage of Flamingo West skatepark on my way to the airport. I didn't have a car. I took a cab.
"Stop right here," I told the driver, "I'll just be a minute."
You barely need a minute to get over Flamingo. It's such a shitty park it makes me angry! Not only it is completely "trannie free," but the loser that designed this crap-factory built nearly identical rails and ledges on both sides of the "park." I'm cool w/ rails and ledges, but these are identical! You could already hit the rail/ledges from either side [goofy or regular], so why build them twice!?! Because the designer was a DUMB ASS - told you this park makes me angry...
I'm not going to say another thing about this soul-less piss pot, except for this: Don't skate here! Seriously, you must have something better to do w/ you time... I hear REAL SKATEPARKS are poppin' up everywhere in Vegas. For now, take a look at these for an idea of what they COULD HAVE DONE, but didn't... Desert Breeze used to be almost this bad, but it got a lot better recently. Bunker is a new one that looks ill like Mike McGill. Finally, we've got some "old pics" of Planet Plywood for you.
Directions: Take Interstate 15 to exit 39 [Flamingo Road], and head west. The skatepark is on the left, just west of Jones Boulevard. The address is 6255 W Flamingo Road.
