Brooklyn - Owl's head

* Outdoor: 'Crete / Wood
* Free ???
* Trannie / Street
* Rating: Like Paul's Boutique!

One of the infamous 5 boros of NYC - Brooklyn has a pretty sweet skatepark at Owl's Head.

It's mostly concrete, but with some "wood" features that can be changed around over time. We recommend you go 100% concrete [=forever!], but we get the idea behind this one. Having said that, the non-crete is pretty beat up. Here's another example of this kind of thinking outta CO near Denver.

This park was probably built in 2001? Kinda old now, but that bowl still deserves some respect. Real pool coping [kinda macked by the bikers...], etc.

Directions: Brooklyn is southeast of Manhattan. We took the subway - the "R" train - into Brooklyn and exited the Bay Ridge stop. You'll come out of the subway onto 4th Ave - get someone to point you toward Bay Ridge Ave, heading west [toward the water/Manhattan]. About 3 blocks down Bay Ridge, you'll make a right [North] on Colonial. 1 block later, you'll see Owl's Head park. The skatepark is to your northwest at that point...

^ Ohhh, the big bad bowl
in Brooklyn NYC!

^ Real pool coping - not bad,
East Coast on that pool tip.

^ Not perfect by any means,
but WAY better than that
shite bowl in Chicago,
but prolly NOT as good as
the new bowl in Saratoga Springs NY!

^ Non-bowl stuff isn't as exciting...

^ They're kinda into "blades" in NY...
WAY more than the west coast.
