Face Off

EXTINCT: As of Fall 2000 this park no longer exists...

SK8parkLIST is a proud Left-Coast organization, but you know we're down for the East, and especially NY. However, LI has a history of flaky skateparks. We tried to check out Union a few times, but it's gone. 516 was a sweet park, but it closed early in '00 [we'll have the pics up for that park some day...]. That leaves BoardSports and a few others.

On our last trip to NY, we were pleased to discover Face Off. While we didn't ride this park ourselves - Long Island was rained out that day - we did score the footy. We're hoping y'all will kick down w/ the commentary, but as far as we can tell, the only sketchy thing about this park was finding it.

Directions: Face off is in Bayport. It's tucked-in near a few highways, south of Ronkokoma and blah, blah, blah...

A couple more random notes about Face Off: A guy named "Cookie" runs the place. That dude is cool as hell. Tell him we gave up the shout-outs in his general direction. Last note, Face Off is "bike friendly".

^ One of many fine examples
of local art at Face Off

^ A little spread out...
looks like the "flow" is
probably better for bikes
than the inline/skate crowd

^ Banks and quarter

^ Nice fun box

^ Construction looks

^ Side view on the kickers

^ Sweet mini - about 5'

^ This would be the frontal
view on those kick-kicks

^ And if you don't fuckin' knock
it off they'll kick your ass!!!
