Aumsville came to us as a hot tip. The day we rode Newburg, this local rider named Steve was talking about his favorite spots in Oregon state. He mentioned Lincoln City and this new park in Aumsville that would "bring Lincoln City closer to the 5." Since we were heading south anyway, we thought we'd check it out and see if ole' Uncle Steve was right.

If you know anything about Lincoln City or Aumsville, you might know that this is yet another Dreamland [503.515-4618] production. Dreamland - Oregon's most infamous 'crete slingers - is a company that's centered around some of the OG skaters that originally broke ground on Burnside and the Westside [Seattle?] Bowl. These days they've progressed skatepark standards/innovation further w/ a string of masterpieces that include Lincoln City, Newburg, and other exalted executions to flow, flow, flow!

Update: Since we first posted this review we've received a lot of feedback. Dreamland mastermind Monk Hubbard sent in a couple pics. Local head Aaron Paul sent in pics and corrected our directions a little. We also got a bunch of pics from Joesf Heffner from the EyeSk8 skate school in Corvallis [541.752.1784]. Lastly, a local named Joey wrote in with a little history about the park. He said the park was built after he and his buddies Matt Noack and Tim Austin raised $200k in chedda and got this park off the ground. They reportedly assisted in the construction as well. Thanks to all of you for your comments and contributions.

Directions From Salem, take Interstate 5 to Highway 22 east. Exit the 5 freeway [#9 exit] onto the 22 on Shaw Hwy, [also called 1st street] and head south. Turn right [west] on Main Street, continuing along until you pass through the 11th St. intersection. The park is on the south side of the street in Mill Creek Park, across from Porter Park.
