Hood River Skatepark

* Oudoor: 'Crete / Asphalt
* Free
* Trannie / Street
* Rating: Hoodies

"There are two phases to the Hood River skatepark. The older includes blacktop, concrete, and wood features. We didn't really skate any of those, as we were too busy shralping the new Dreamland bowl [Dreamland: 503.577.9277] on the hill."

"Short on necessary funds to complete the project in its planned entirety, but anxious to provide a facility that would begin to engage the local community of skateboarders, Hood River's Parks and Recreation group found Dreamland quite easy to work with in the development of a phased contingency, wherein the beginner-to-intermediate course was completed first, followed by the advanced section (phase II)."

Directions: Hood River is on the OR/WA border, to the North of Mt. Hood and east of Portland. Coming from Portland, take highway 84 east and exit at West Hood River [#62] and go right [south] on Cascade St [you'll end up heading east]. You'll make your first left [north] on N. Rand Rd., and a right [west again] on Wasco St. The skatepark is at 20th and Wasco.
