Bennington Skatepark

* Outdoor: Wood / Asphalt
* Free
* Trannie / Street
* Rating: Prefab thrills

First off - this review is by request for Bennington local, Dustin Auspland:

"I was wondering if you were going to put up our park on your site?? I know it's not much, but it's the only place we have to skate. We keep getting kicked out of parking lots, etc."

Dustin Auspland: Aug '01

Dustin pretty much said it all. It's not great, but it's better than a parking lot. It's a prefab park, that means it came "pre-built" and they just shipped out the ramps and set them up on what looks like an old basketball court. The miniramp is a fun ride, but it's about half as wide as it should be. The ramps are fine, really, there's just no design, no flow... it's a minimal effort. But it's also hassle free, so get out there and hurt yourself!

For more skateables, you'll find local rides in Saratoga Springs NY, at Zero Gravity in Rutland VT, at Burlington's park, and at Keene NH's park. We'll have pics of all the above and more on the site soon!

Directions: Bennington is in the southwest corner of Vermont, off of highway 9. To get to the skatepark, take Highway 9 to Highway 7 north. Exit at Kocher Drive and turn right [east]. Make a left [north] onto East Road. Follow this road up the hill until you see Willow Park on the left. Parking is just above the park. The skate park is in Willow Park at the bottom of a large grassy hill.
