Kirkland Skatepark

* Outdoor: 'Crete
* Free[dom]
* Trannie / Street
* Rating: Budget flow

"Everything I can find about Kirkland says it's sucks," reported Mr Mark. He's pretty much "right on the money" on that one...

For what it is, it's okay. It's what it's not, that'll let you down. It's not big, and it's not burly. You're looking at a couple of chill lines and weak features... but as of summer of '00, it was a hassle free place to chill w/ some skaters and flip your stick until you could catch a ride someplace else.

Yep, if this seems sleepy to you, hotwire your neighbor's car and hit. SeaSk8 and Rain City - both in Seattle - are some local favorites. Other locations include Redmond in Microsoft's backyard, Bellevue has an indoor park, and more concrete in North Bend.

Directions: Kirkland is just east of Seattle. Get yourself across Lake Washington, and take the 405 north to exit 18 / 85th St. and head west. 85th turns into Central Way after 6th St. The skatepark is on the left, two blocks past 6th Street, in Peter Kirk Park.

^ Lack-luster luxury
for the skate brats
in Kirkland.

^ Grabbing a few
ollies while mom
hooks up the fruit-
roll ups doesn't sound
too bad...

^ I think this
early grabber
might be
Freddie McConkey?

^ This dude isn't doing the
chicken dance... he's tryin'
to make a dolla outta fitty
cents! Gotta find that flow...

^ Looks like budget coping
on that quarter pipe...
