Rain City

PARK IS CLOSED: Check this out...

"Uh... Rain City closed a coupla weeks ago. You might wanna take it off the SKATEparkLIST."

- Jonny: Jul '03

We asked around and we heard they lost their lease. They're supposed to reopen "soon"...

An indoor park in one of the rainiest cities in the US - great idea! Rain City's 12,000 sq ft of rain-proof riding joins the ranks of the Northwest's killbert park scene. You guys have such a good skate scene right now it's hard not to just pack up and move up there. To "Skateland" - home of too many ridiculously good parks mention... check the SK8parkLIST for more action.

We've had a ton of reports and questions about this park over the last 6 months. Matt Ireton was all over us w/ questions. Nolan Chase was quick to report the park opening. Chris Moon [Rain City webmaster] kicked down the pics you'll see below - thanks!

Ryan Fahei also emailed w/ the following:

"Any way, new park in Seattle. There is an 11 ft vert half pipe and a 36 ft wide mini half pipe, 5 ft to 6 ft tall [w/ extensions], no vert on that one. There is some street stuff [8,000 sq ft] that is pretty cool - one or two fun boxes w/ a hand rail and some other stuff."

In addition to the description above, they've got a pro shop, concessions, lounge area, etc. They also host competitions and all that. There's a lot going on over there, keep an eye on those guys...

Best of luck to the Rain City crew. We bestow our humble blessing on you - go forth and prosper and skate and destroy. You've got a lot of support already... we'll be up there to see you as soon as we can. In the mean time, knowing the trannie riders in WA, I'm sure we'll get more submissions - so stay tuned.
